Land og Skógur

I am a plant ecologist working at Land og Skóg. I coordinate a long-term national vegetation and soil monitoring programme that aims at producing data to promote, in collaboration with stakeholders, sustainable land management in Icelandic rangelands. I was a post-doc at the University of Iceland in 2014-2017, studying the effect of sheep grazing on plant colonization in early succession. I have a PhD in Plant Ecology from Stockholm University (2014), a MSc (2007) and BSc (2004) in biology from the University of Iceland. I have also taught courses in ecology and botany at the graduate and undergraduate level, and I am actively involved in supervising students.
